Yenepoya University Mangalore

Yenepoya College offers different undergraduate programs under the deemed university Yenepoya University Mangalore. In 1991, Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi started a non-profit trust and issued Yenepoya Dental College. Yenepoya Dental College started in 1992. The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science gave affiliation to Yenapoya Dental College Mangalore. Later, the Yenepoya trust started Yenepoya Nursing College in 1994. Furthermore, they started their Medical College in 1999 to ensure better clinical practice and student internship programs.

Yenepoya University campus is located in Nithyananda Nagar, Deralakatte. The college offers modern infrastructure facilities such as fully furnished classrooms, well-maintained science laboratories, residential quarters for staff, and separate hostels for boys and girls. NACC accredits Yenepoya College Mangalore with an “A” grade and CGPA points of 3.14in the year November 2015. Yenepoya University ranks Third Best University among the Young best universities in Karnataka by K-SURF, Government of Karnataka 2016. Moreover, Yenepoya University Mangalore Ranks 95th in the Top 100 NIRF of MHRD, Govt. of Indian University category.

Yenepoya Medical College

Yenepoya Medical College has established in the year 1999. The College has affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore for the award of degrees. Firstly, a batch of 100 MBBS students got admission in the year 1999. Subsequently in the year 2005, after obtaining permission from the Medical Council of India postgraduate courses in seven departments were started. Presently the Yenepoya Medical College is conducting Postgraduate Courses in 20 departments.

The Yenepoya Medical College has declared as a constituent College of Yenepoya University Mangalore (Deemed-to-be university under section 3(A) of the UGC Act 1956 as per notification number F 9-11/2007 U-3 dated 27-02-2007) in the year 2009. In the year 2011, the Medical Council of India permitted the College to admit 150 students in MBBS Course with effect from Academic Year 2011.

Hostel

The salubrious climate, peaceful environment and surroundings make it a perfect setup for the enrichment of personal growth mentally and academically. Separate hostels are provided for both men and women as follows.

YMK men’s hostel with a capacity of 500, for medical, dental UG, physiotherapy, and nursing students. Zulekha ladies hostel with 866 capacity for dental, medical UG’s, medical interns, physiotherapy, and nursing students. Gardenia Hostel with three blocks ‘A’ Block for male PG’s dental medical, foreign UG students with a capacity of 216 students. ‘B’ Block for female UG dental, medical, and dental interns with a capacity of 600 students. ‘C’ Block for female PG both dental medical and foreign UG students. All the hostel rooms provides furnished and equipped with basic amenities. PG hostels are air-conditioned, whereas, in UG hostels, air-conditioned rooms are provided as per the personal request. The hostels have attached dining halls, TV rooms, Wi-Fi facilities, RO drinking water, and Laundry facilities. The hostels have a food kiosk and coffee shop which is open till midnight.

Library

This digital era has been characterized by technology enhancing the depth and breadth of knowledge. Yenepoya campus provides by Yen-Net (Wi-Fi) service which works 24X7 from 90% of the living area on the campus. Open access to the internet also exposes one to harmful content, security threats, and data breaches so here at Yenepoya we provide filtered and secured data access to learning material as well as entertainment and social channels.

Our central library is a place where students spend much of their lives outside the classrooms. It’s not just the 30,000 books, but you can access various e-resources including the e-databases such as EBSCO, HELMET, INFONET, and the other subscriptions. There is also an e-learning center and a digital library to aid students in online learning.

Yenepoya College is running under the deemed university called Yenepoya University. The Campus promotes eco-friendly activities and environmental consciousness among the students. The eco-friendly stance in Yenepoya University committed to no smoking, plastic-free, clean, and green campus. Efforts are being made to develop the campus on green concepts particularly focusing on water conservation, use of alternative sources of energy, solid waste management, vermicomposting, green belt development, and sustainable architectural designs of buildings.

Yenepoya University Mangalore is committed to reducing the impact of healthcare activities on the environment and the conservation of biodiversity. The campus is designed to reduce energy consumption and utilize renewable natural resources such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting ponds. A large pond inside the campus revives the underground water table and provides water during the lean period. Yenepoya Nursing College

The Yenepoya Nursing College (YNC) was established in 2002 by the Islamic Academy of Education (IAE) trust to prepare graduate nurses with a professional outlook. The college was affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Since 2009, it has been affiliated with Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. The college is recognized by the Government of Karnataka (GOK), the Indian Nursing Council(INC), and the Karnataka State Nursing Council (KSNC).

The Yenepoya Nursing College is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi Karnataka State Nursing Council, Bengaluru Yenepoya Deemed to be University, University Grants Commission, National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The College offers General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), Basic B.Sc (N), Post Basic B.Sc(N), M.Sc (N) programs, and PhD in Nursing under the Faculty of Nursing, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). The University has been accredited with NAAC ‘A’ and Ranked 86th in the National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2020.

Yenepoya Physiotherapy College

Yenepoya Physiotherapy College (YPC) was established in 2003 under the Islamic Academy of Education Trust (IAE) and the college was affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Later Yenepoya started its own deemed university called Yenepova University. At present, the college offers Physiotherapy Programs under Yenepoya University. Yenepoya Physiotherapy College Mangalore offers undergraduate programs such as (BPT), postgraduate (MPT), and Ph.D., programs.

Yenepoya Physiotherapy College is a well-known Campus for its discipline, quality education, and clinical research. Thus ensuring the quality of teaching-learning and services to the society and the country as a whole. The first batch of BPT students completed their program and were awarded their degrees in 2008. Postgraduate courses (MPT) have since begun in 3 elective branches of Neurology, Cardiothoracic & Orthopaedics under RGUHS in the year 2007.

Yenepoya Physiotherapy College is one of the few colleges to offer a speciality in physiotherapy in India. By the year 2010, the college has added two more specialty branches i.e. Paediatrics and Manual therapy. In the year 2016 Semester system for the BPT program and in 2018 Choice Based Credit System was introduced for the MPT program with 4 specialties with 7 electives.

Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital emerged as a humble thought by the Management of Yenepoya (Deemed to be a University) with a vision to bring the Ayurvedic system of medicine to the mainstream healthcare system. It was officially launched in 2015 as Yenepoya Ayurveda Health Center at Kankanady, Mangalore.
