The SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre are situated on the NH 45 GST road at Potheri between Tambaram and Chengalpattu in a sprawling 33.61-acre campus.

Central Library

The Medical Library is located on the first and second floor of the College building. The total Area of the library is 2638 Sq. Mt. Library building has well protected with fire alarms. The library is open from 8 am to 8 pm on Monday to Saturday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Sundays and other holidays. Apart from Central Library, each department has a separate Department Library which contains 100 – 120 books. SRM Medical College library provides reprographics facilities to the students. Moreover, the library also provides an Internet Facility Document Delivery Service (Digital & Printer) and Open Access Facilities for Textual Documents. Provision of Separate Reading Rooms for Students and Teachers/ Scholars. The Library of SRM Medical College occupies two floors.

Hostel

Life on campus helps the students not only to study but also to socialize with their peers. Friendships formed on the campus last a lifetime. SRM provides comfortable and safe housing to all its students. The students housed on the campus can use the gymnasium, playground, and all indoor gaming facilities.

SRM Medical College offers comfortable accommodation to more than 1,00,000 students every year. It has 24 X 7 CCTV coverage, security guards surveillance, power backup and a biometric attendance system which ensure the utmost security for girls. Other amenities like Wi-Fi, a fully equipped gym, an indoor games hall, jogging and walking tracks, fully air-conditioned waiting halls, study hall ensure the utmost comfort for the students.

Supermarkets, eatery shops, photocopier service and all the other shops catering to the daily requirement of the students are also present inside the premises. This block’s entrance faces north and all the rooms are fully furnished with attached bathrooms and cold and hot water facilities. In each room Study tables, and storage lockers, are available on a double-sharing basis. Both A.C and Non A.C rooms are available for allotment. From the First floor to the Eighth floor, both AC and Non-AC Rooms are available as mentioned in the floor plan. From the 9th floor to the 15th floor, all the rooms are Non-AC

Arts & Culture

SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Center (formerly known as SRM University), to enhance the skills of the students, must be provided with opportunities to explore their creativity. To encourage creative pursuits and nurture the talents of the students the college conducts various events for the students to form teams and share responsibility for organizing the events.

All major Indian festivals are celebrated on the campus with complete enthusiasm and enjoyment. Lushing lunches are explicitly made in students’ hostels to mark these festivities and to give the students a taste of the region’s culinary traditions.

Sports and Games

SRM has excellent sports and recreation facilities on campus, with dedicated facilities for tennis, basketball, badminton, volleyball, yoga and various other sports. Students participate regularly in Inter Collegiate, Inter University and State Level Tournaments and have won laurels for SRM.

Holistic Health & Fitness

To enable good health and fitness to our large segment of students and staff, SRMIST has continuously invested in facilities and capabilities that would be frequently used like Gym, Open running tracks and Yoga interventions on a regular basis. For students to stay fit and healthy, all hostels provides gym and fitness centre facilities – treadmill, exercise bikes and more of the latest fitness equipment. The central gym for men at SRM is also equipped with bodybuilding equipment. All gyms and fitness centres are open both in the morning and evening hours.
