Sambhram College of Nursing Kolar

Sambhram College of Nursing Kolar is one of the well-known Nursing Colleges in Bangalore. Sambhram Nursing College is a unit of Sambhram Charitable Trust. The Sambhram Institute of Nursing Kolar was established in the year 1992 and Sambhram College of Nursing Kolar was established in the year 2004 with a prime motive to provide better nursing education to the students.

Sambhram College and Institute of Nursing Kolar campus is located in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), a beautiful township of Karnataka. The college campus is set in a green quiet, calm beautiful evergreen natural environment, free of any kind of pollution and disturbance. The students can reach the college by railway, bus and taxi service. For the students who are coming by train, the station is at Bangarpet which is on the Bangalore to Chennai line. Furthermore, Bus services are available from Bangalore to BEML Nagar at any time of the day or night. The campus is located at BEML Nagar and is 7 km from Bangarpet which has a parent hospital.

Classrooms

Sambram College has a total of 12 fully furnished lecture halls. Each classroom is arranged with a seating capacity of 50. All the lecture halls are well-ventilated with lighting facilities and equipped with the latest audio-visual aids.

Laboratories

Sambhram College of Nursing has various well-equipped laboratories such as Nursing Foundation, MCH, CHN & Nutrition Lab. All the labs of Sambhram college equip with adequate latest articles for the students to learn and practice nursing procedures.

Library

A well-equipped and spacious centre is available for student reference. All the students of Sambhram College are encouraged to use the library for the enhancement of knowledge and supplement the teaching in the classrooms. Furthermore, the library is open for extended hours to benefit the students and the faculty. Besides a good collection of Indian and reference books, International books, national and international journals and magazines constitute the library.

Audio Visual Aids

The college offers various of the latest technologies such as OHP, LCD, slide projectors, TV, DVD etc. Furthermore, the teachers use audio-visual aids for their daily classes to bring variety in teaching and gain the full attention of the students.

Sports

Adequate facilities for indoor and outdoor games are provided for the students to promote sports. PT hours are included in college hours to encourage sportsmanship among students. A qualified full-time PT teacher is available to train the students in sports. Moreover, facilities for the students to participate in inter-college, intra-college, and university-conducted sports are made possible by the college.

Health Service

The health services of the students are met by Sambhram hospital. An annual physical examination is done on each student. As per the rule of the board of nursing education students are eligible for ten days of sick leave for every year of study. Students are immunized against infectious diseases as and when necessary. Any student becoming sick has been admitted to Sambhram hospital immediately and cured.

Hostel

Sambhram College of Nursing Kolar provides safe and comfortable separate accommodations for boys and girls. The hostel rooms of Sambhram College are provided with a cot, a table, a chair and a cupboard for individuals. The students enjoy the facilities of well-equipped and furnished common rooms and dining halls, a prayer hall and a recreational hall with adequate recreational facilities.

Students will be under the supervision of the principal with the warden’s help and must abide by the hostel’s rules. Violations of hostel rules should be reported to the parents and appropriate action will be taken according to the institution’s regulations.

Sambhram College of Nursing Hospital

Sambhram Hospital has currently started with 300 beds. The infrastructure of the hospital can occupy 1000 beds. Apart from having its own hospital (Sambhram Hospital) for the students to gain in-house experience, students are sent to Government Hospital in KGF for uninterrupted training obtaining their clinical experience. These hospitals comprise patients of all specialities. One-month posting in psychiatry nursing and Cardiothoracic nursing is provided.
