Dr BR Ambedkar Medical College Bangalore (BRAMC) was established in the year 1981 in Bangalore. This Medical College is run by Ananda Social and Educational Trust in Bangalore. The Ananda Social and Educational is providing good education, which is the dream of SC and ST and underprivileged people. This Educational Trust has a rich experience in the Medical education field, College and School of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy as well as Institutes of Medical Laboratory Technology and Radiography, and Dental College has been run by this trust.

Dr BR Ambedkar Medical College Bangalore (BRAMC) has a 25-acre campus at Kadugondanahalli, Bangalore. It has impressive buildings with a well-ventilated atmosphere and a unique architectural style which attracts the attention of any visitor. 355 well-trained and educated teaching faculties. BRAC has well-equipped modern classrooms. Five lecture halls are available here, each with 120 seating capacity and audio and video facilities. There are three examination halls available each has 110 seating capacity. Separated common rooms for boys and girls with attached toilets.

Library

Ambedkar Medical College provides a fully equipped library with digital facilities and computer systems. Students, Faculty, Research workers, and other staff extensively make use of the facilities. Readers have access to audio-visual aids, Micro Film Reader, and an internet facility. Electronic databases viz. MEDLINE and Proquest Medical Library are available. The Library is connected to the HELMET consortium offered by RGUHS for full-text online journals and Ebooks databases and computerized.

Postgraduates, graduates, and researchers get the latest references through these apart from books, for their dissertation and research and publication work. Services include book bank, Photocopying, scanning for digitizing purposes, and laser printing too. Both Foreign and Indian medical journals are provided to the students to meet the demands of learning and to keep abreast with recent literature. Our library is an essential component of the institution that serves the community enthusiastically, providing a friendly environment. Apart from the central library, every department maintains its departmental library facility for its staff and PG students.

Hostel

The college runs hostels within the campus for Girls & Boys separately. The hostel buildings with spacious rooms, lounges, and recreation rooms having colour television sets in each of the hostels, with all other modern amenities, are built to ensure the comfortable stay of the inmates, and a proper atmosphere for study. The women students’ hostel, with a view to ensuring the absolute safety of the inmates, is appropriately fenced and secured.

Sports And Cultural Activities

Dr BR Ambedkar Medical College lays great emphasis on the all-around development of the student. The college campus has a spacious sports ground and materials for several outdoor and indoor activities. A committee, headed by the Principal and comprising the Physical Director, sports secretary and talented members of the staff, and student representatives, manage the sports activities.

It is a matter of pride that many of our students have come out with flying colours in National, State, Inter-university and Inter-medical sports competitions. Students take a keen interest in literary and cultural activities. College Day, Graduation Day, and competitions on Karnataka Rajyothsava are some of the platforms for literary and cultural activities.

Transportation Facility

College buses run in the various parts of the city for the commutation of students and staff from their destination to college and back home on nominal charges. A transport facility is also available to send students to various health centres for training purposes.
