Indira Nursing College Mangalore under Indira education Trust is a  Private College in Mangalore. INDIRA EDUCATION TRUST was founded by Dr. Syed Nizamuddin, a well-known Orthopaedic and Arthroscopic Surgeon. The college has affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science. Indira Hospital Research & Diagnostic Centre is located in the heart of the city of Mangalore where specialized clinical training will be provided. GOVT. DISTRICT WENLOCK HOSPITAL is well, known Multi-Specialty 705 bedded hospital located in the heart of Mangalore city within the walking distance from campus. Since its inception in the year 1848, the hospital provides good medical care to the poorer sections of the societies.  Specifically Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Chikmangalur, Hassan, and Coorg district of Karnataka state. In addition the patients from the neighbouring districts of Kerala avail medical facilities from this hospital. An additional 200 bedded Paediatric wing complements the already existing 705 beds. Lady Goschen hospital is the largest maternity hospital in Mangalore with a bed strength of 280 beds. FR MULLER’S HOSPITAL MANGALORE

FR Muller Hospital Mangalore is a well-known household name for health care services opened its doors to the people of South Canara in 1880. The Hospital is a Multi-Specialty with a bed strength capacity of 1250 beds, mainly specialized in Psychiatry, in addition to General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Dental Surgery, Gynecologic, Orthopaedics, Oncology, Radiodiagnosis – CT/MRI, ENT, Neuro Surgery, and Rehabilitation Centre. Graduate and Post Graduate students are availing clinical experience in FR Muller Hospital Mangalore, especially in the field of the Psychiatry Department.

The library is well-equipped and will be kept open during working hours of the Institution. The library is computerised and well-stocked with books by Indian and Foreign authors, Indian and Foreign Journals, Periodicals, Magazines, Newspapers, CDs and Cassettes. Indira College of Nursing Mangalore have the Internet facility for our staff & students and also the HELINET connection from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Library wherein our Institute has been registered & our students can access subject-related topics from the University Library directly on the net. Students are allowed to use the internet facility for their academic purpose. The library is staffed by qualified persons.

Transportation

Institute bus is provided for students to attend clinical postings, community area visits etc.

Vacation

4 weeks vacation is planned yearly, 2 weeks during December as Mid-Term Leave, 1 week as Preparatory holidays before Annual Exams and 1 week after Final exams as Annual Leave.

Extra Curricular Activities

Several opportunities are provided for the students to develop their skills and talents at various levels such as indoor-outdoor games and sports, picnics etc. Are organized to enhance social interaction and participation in a friendly competitive attitude. Students are encouraged to make use of these facilities. Membership in the Student Nurses Association (S.N.A) on local, state and national levels offers ample scope for the development of their knowledge and skills. Ragging

Ragging is a serious offence and is treated as a criminal and punishable offence. No student must indulge or encourage or support ragging of any kind. The anti-ragging committee of the Institute takes serious action in eradicating any ragging activity from the root.

Hostel Facility

– Separate accommodation available for both Girls & Boys – Compulsory for girls coming from t vicinity of Mangalore city and other states throughout the Course. – Hostel facility once opted, will be binding till the completion of the course. – Agreement is mandatory to avail Hostel facility – Students will be under the direct supervision of the Warden. – Food & Accommodation fees must be paid as per the rules of the Institution. – Management is not responsible for loss, theft or damage of valuables.

Indira Nursing College Mangalore laid on the overall development of the students. In the same way, each year annual sports meets are conducted. Examinations

Examinations for M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing & P.C. B.Sc. Nursing are conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences during the month of May/ September respectively every year. Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board conducts examination for GNM during the month of August.
