Mangalore College of Nursing is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and is also recognized by the Indian Nursing Council [INC], New Delhi and Karnataka State Nursing Council, Bangalore. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve and grow at a fast pace, the role and need for a workforce of highly educated nurses is becoming even more critical. Hence Mangalore Nursing College decided to expand the service into the field of health education.

From the academic year 2019-20, Highland Hospital has taken over the administration of “Mangalore College of Nursing” and “Mangalore Institute of Nursing Sciences”, which has been running since 1998 under the ‘Ullal Charitable Education Trust’. Furthermore, the College has shifted to a new campus in Ullal and the clinical posting of the students is provided at Highland Hospital.

  • The Student should have completed a 10+2 level of education with Physics, Biology, English, and Chemistry as core subjects.

  • Apart from the minimum merit score, candidates must also have met the cut-off requirements in the qualifying entrance examinations

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a two-year undergraduate programme designed to inculcate an in-depth understanding of advanced-level nursing. Under this programme, aspirants brush up their learning to provide complete medical care to the patients. The students acquire both surgical and non-surgical nursing skills that prepare them for varied real-world clinical and hospital settings.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Student should have passed 3 or 3½ years of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course with 50% marks in aggregate from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
  • The Student should have passed their Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) in Mangalore Nursing College

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course is a job-oriented diploma program that aims to train individuals in advanced skills in nursing with a focus on midwifery services as well. The duration of the course is three and a half years and enables students with the knowledge of maternity care

Eligibility Criteria

  • The minimum age of the student for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • The Student should pass a 10+2 class with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with an aggregate of 45% marks from the recognized board.
  • The Student shall be medically fit.
  • The Students appearing in the 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
