Master of Physiotherapy or MPT is an extension to the syllabus of BPT. It deals with the methods of drug-free treatments and staying fit. Basically, the idea of MPT is to help patients to recover from physical injuries. Then the methods evolved to prevention of physical problems too.
MPT offers a solution to joint-related issues, movement problems caused by a wide variety of nerve, muscle, and joint disorders. It teaches a person to stay fit and the importance of the human body in their life. It will help in avoiding injuries and take precautions from an accident or joint-related problems. Physiotherapy is the study of preventing injuries, finding drug-free techniques and helping people to always stay fit. Students can choose from a variety of specialisation fields such as sports-related physiotherapy, neurological conditions, movement disorders, rehabilitation, and recovery. Overall, the students will learn about the complete human body and the best practices to keep them fit.
If a candidate wants to be a general trainer or physiotherapist trainee, then BPT (Bachelor’s Physiotherapy) will cover all the general physiotherapy subjects.
MPT (Masters in Physiotherapy) includes one specialised subject and detailed analysis about the same with research published articles and internships of at least six months.
A student may apply for the same masters course before an internship. However, admission is guaranteed only after completion of an internship. One has to be a graduate from reputed colleges or universities affiliated with the Indian Physiotherapy Association for better enhancement and salary package.
