A J Institute of Medical Sciences Mangalore

A J Institute of Medical Sciences Mangalore (AJIMS) may be a medical college in Mangalore with an annual intake of one hundred fifty students. A J College Mangalore was established in 2002. The medical school is currently related to RGUHS and recognized by the medical council of Asian countries. The college building is constructed on sloping land, overlooking the city.

It provides an aesthetic ambience coupled with a breath-taking bird’s eye view of the city. It is managed by Laxmi Memorial Education Trust and is attached to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, city and is recognized by the Medical Council and Dental Council of Asian country.

Library

A J Institute of Medical Sciences has an Electronic, Hybrid and Digital Library.  A Well-Stocked Library with a collection of 14,428 Books and also subscribed to around 138 International Journals. EJournal Subscription like CYGNUS, EBSCO and J-Gate and having a database of over 2,500 listed companies in about 2000 journals and facilitated with MANLIBNET, INFLIBNET and ERNET. AJIMS Library standards the importance of textbooks and reference materials in higher education from inception and is firmly trying to expand the best to its users with the seating capacity of more than 150 Members in Reading Hall.

Laboratories

AJ Hospital Laboratory is working under the application of leading-edge technology. All laboratories of the Institution are fully equipped. The Anatomy and Physiology Laboratories are well equipped. The Nursing  Laboratory is fully-fledged with dummies, models, manikins, charts, and all equipment needed for the student’s learning. A. J. Hospital & Research Center maintains well equipped, modern labs for Clinical Pathology, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

These labs have been covered with fully computerized equipments which insures the accuracy and dependability of the investigations done. A Computer Lab with a large number of computer systems, internet and e-mail connectivity is available. A. J. Hospital’s laboratories and blood banks follow rigid quality control measures and are covered under internal and external quality declaration programs.

Faculty and Staff Members

A. J. Institute of Medical Science & Research Centre has around 300 Teaching Staff and more than 150 Non-Teaching Staff who are rendering their services for developing the health care of the general public.

Hostel

A. J. Medical College has separate hostels for boys and girls. Life in hostels always provides many wits and fond memories. Likewise, each room is provided with all modern residential facilities with a neat environment, for boarding and other recreational activities. Aquaguard water filters provide clean water for drinking. Power Generator backup facility to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the Mess Hall and corridors. A Reading Room provides a venue for extra-curricular activities and some relaxation. Furnished Guest Rooms are provided for an occasional stay of father/brothers and men faculty. Anti-Ragging Cell and Disciplinary Committee helps create a Hostile Environment that places emphasis on learning and personal growth. The hostel has a Zero Tolerance Policy on Ragging, in line with the judgment of the Supreme Court of India, UGC guidelines, and State Government and University policy.

Classroom

Theoretical expertise is imparted to students in spacious classrooms equipped with a mike system, OHP & LCD Projector. College uniform is compulsory in the campus and clinical postings. Providing classrooms and the necessary amenities for learning and teaching. Modern teaching aids such as television, whiteboards, etc are extensively used for the delivery of education. Institute classrooms are spacious, well ventilated, and disturbance-free with wide corridors. With a sprawling learning zone, several clinics, and a wide variety of labs, adjacent to a teacher’s room, each department is planned for convenience for students, employees, and visitors alike.

Auditorium

The auditorium is built to mirror our commitment to providing the best infrastructure to the students.     The auditorium is well equipped with the best audio-visual facilities and is abuzz with activity throughout the year. It is one area that encourages students to be more creative, overcome the fear of the stage and become more confident. Keeping in mind the acoustics and optimum seating arrangement, the auditorium occupies a pride of place on the campus.
