BSc Medical Imaging Technology is a three year undergraduate paramedical course. It is the study of creating images of human body parts using various techniques like x-rays, ultrasound etc. The course as six semesters. In addition, six months internship is compulsory. Basically, students join this course to become x-ray, CT scan and MRI scan technicians. But, there is more to it. Students can become Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Radiologic Technologist, Radiographers, X-Ray Technicians or Ultrasound Technicians and more.
Medical Imaging Technology is also called as Radiology in some universities. Students can make a better career out of this course. As, the medical field is growing, need for radiologists are also increasing day by day.
Medical Imaging Technology is a branch of Medical Research and Development. It is related to the study of various techniques of capturing images of human body parts for medical as well as research purposes. The course is designed with a diversified plan of study in advance imaging (MRI and CT), healthcare management and general knowledge about the discipline.
Students needs physics, chemistry and biology in 10+2. Also, they need 50% marks in the same. However, SC/ST/OBC students needs only 45% in some universities.
Yes, it has good job opportunities presently and will be more in future.
