MSc MLT, Medical Laboratory Technology is a two year postgraduate paramedical course. It deals with laboratory analysis. After that, patients are taken cared using this data. It has subjects like molecular biology, human anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, haematology etc. The students are taught about various diseases, diagnosis, treatment and ways to prevent them. The students are trained to carry the clinical tests accurately that will help the physician to make proper diagnosis.
Students goes for this course after completing B.Sc MLT. It is a high paying job. Medical field is growing day by day. Hence, need for Lab Technicians are also increasing. In addition, there are many job opportunities available. In conclusion , candidates can find work in hospitals, clinics and research facilities.
There are many branches in M.Sc MLT. They are:
Biochemists characterises the structure, function, assembly, and dynamic changes of macro-molecules. After that, they find answers to fundamental questions about living processes (basic research) and to bring to fruition significant improvements in the quality of life and medical care (applied research). Basically, Modern technologies allow the development of recombinant DNA technology, and a revolution is under way toward understanding how plants and animals regulate their metabolic processes and expression of genetic information.
Students learns this course through practical classes and internships.
The course studies the diversity of microbial types, how microorganisms can be used and manipulated to aid mankind and the detrimental effects (for example on health) of microorganisms. New industries devoted to genetic engineering offer microbiologists excellent career opportunities. Microbiologists are also in great demand in clinical microbiology. Microbiology graduates are well equipped for a wide variety of careers.
The course studies the diversity of microbial types. And their effects on humans. Students learns through practical theoretical studies.
M.Sc Haematology and Blood Transfusion is a course provides in depth knowledge to analyse the patient samples, diagnosing and reporting in a Laboratory set up. Candidates will be having responsibilities in managing the patients and hospital samples. Candidates must take part in seminars, short topic discussions, case discussions, journal club presentations and clinical postings. Most importantly, the academic training also includes lab work, experimental work and Dissertation.
It teaches students how to analyse body matters like fluids, tissues and blood and how to conduct cell count, chemical analyses and micro-organism screening. Similarly, the course shall teach its students subjects and in areas like Blood banking, Blood Sample Matching and Haematology.
Basically, we prefer Kerala University of Health Sciences. However, you can check Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Clinical Biochemistry and Blood Transfusion is better. However, you can check out Microbiology too. In conclusion, all branches has its own relevance.
Initially, 3 to 4 LPA. After that, you will get above 6LPA.
